What Is Price Action? A Simple Introduction
The meaning
Price action means studying how price moves on a plain chart: its highs, lows, candles and levels. It focuses on what price has done, instead of relying on many extra tools.
What you look at
Trends: is price making higher highs and higher lows, lower highs and lower lows, or neither. Levels: where price reacted before. Candles: how strong the moves were. Time frame: the same chart looks different on different time frames.
Why people study it
It is a clear way to read a chart and it teaches you to think about what is happening, rather than copying someone else's call.
Limits
Price action does not predict the future. Two people can read the same chart differently. Skill takes time and practice, and losses are part of trading even for experienced people.
Key points
- Price action is about reading the chart itself.
- Trend, levels and candles are the basic parts.
- It needs practice and does not remove risk.
Trading involves risk. This article is for education and information only. It is not investment advice, and no course or method promises a return or removes the risk of loss.
